Meet Nalani Ching

FORMER STATE & FEDERAL PROSECUTOR

And Your Criminal Defense Attorney

Nalani Ching was born and raised in Hawaii. After getting her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Nalani went back to the University of Hawaii to get her Master of Social Work degree. After working for both the Department of Corrections and the Department of Human Services, Nalani moved to Tulsa where she attended the University of Tulsa School of Law (TU). While in law school Nalani worked as an intern for the Tulsa County Public Defender’s Office. After graduating from TU in just two and half years, Nalani opted to stay in Tulsa and was offered a job with the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office.

While in the Tulsa County DA’s Office, Nalani was promoted to Team Captain and was tasked with supervising and training other attorneys while also handling her own caseload. In 2015, Nalani took a position in Muskogee, OK under the Muskogee County District Attorney. It was during this time that Nalani discovered how much she like practicing law in a smaller district. While in Muskogee, she completed jury trials and handled cases involving maiming, rape, shooting with intent to kill, child abuse, child sexual abuse, kidnapping, robbery, drug trafficking and firearms, as well as many others. In 2019, Nalani had the honor of being awarded the Oklahoma District Attorney’s Association Mitch Sperry Award for Outstanding Prosecutor. This honor was bestowed upon her by her peers because of her dedication, hard work, and success in trial. In 2019, Nalani also received the Muskogee Kid’s Space Child Advocacy “Champion of Children” award.

In 2020, Nalani moved over to the office of the United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. As an Assistant United States Attorney, Nalani again handled child sexual abuse, murder, robbery and gun cases. Nalani was also the United States Attorney’s District Election Officer for the Eastern District of Oklahoma for the 2020 Presidential election. In August of 2021, Nalani left the US Attorney’s office and opened the Ching Law Firm, P.L.L.C., where she now helps people all over Green Country with their legal issues on a daily basis.
